The Suspense Was Killing Us

This election was arduous for news junkies like me. I’ve had to ban the TV in the studio since then, just to recover. But even two weeks later, I’m still smiling. Hooray for Barack Obama! What a relief to have an intelligent thinker/speaker/writer in the White House. I will look forward to his thoughtful consideration of the heavy issues he has to face…we all have to face.

But I am secluded once again in my studio. And I’m worried my latest piece has gotten away from me a bit. My trip to Moab a little while ago was really inspirational in terms of true spirituality in nature. But how to incorporate this into my desire to translate connections and shapes within our human body? I am loving the plain old pencil. I draw the neurons and I really feel their conflicting movements with the pencil. Back to the basics. Shapes and lines and colors.

Can’t wait to see what comes as a result of your trip to Moab. Also, I really love your painting “Valley” – very beautiful.
