In fourth grade, my art scholarship began in the attic studio of painter Barbara Lubach. I painted there every Wednesday after school, listening to her wisdom, the giggles of my friends, and all the great hits of the 70s.
Between those years and the present, I've had a lot of wonderful experiences. I graduated from Stanford University, the Columbia School of International and Public Affairs and the Bank Street School of Education. I worked as a journalist for ABC, CNN and various documentary projects. I spent some years in the classroom, teaching art and kindergarten. And I have spent countless hours serving on boards and committees in my community.
My husband, Emanuel, and I have a wonderful life in New York City. Our three daughters are now happily ensconced in school, which has allowed me to continue my love of painting. I take classes at the Art Students League and paint in my studio in between dropoff and pickup (and the very occasional workout), and I love it.
I hope you enjoy my work. Feel free to drop me an email to let me know what you think at sterngirls@hartzmountain.com.
